San Diego, CA, July 18--Queer screenwriter, filmmaker and actress Guinevere Turner (AMERICAN PSYCHO, The L Word, CHASING AMY) has announced that she will join San Diego Comic-Con International’s Queer Horror Panel on Friday, July 25. The panel follows tonight’s Outfest premiere of Jane Clark’s (METH HEAD) new film CRAZY BITCHES, starring Turner as Belinda, a hard-luck actress with dreams of stardom. The Queer Horror panel takes place Friday July 25, from 7:00pm – 8:00pm, Room 28DE of the Convention Center.

Turner is joined on the panel by Prism Comics and moderator/horror expert Sean Abley (Fangoria’s Gay of the Dead; Out in the Dark) and panelists Jeffrey Reddick (FINAL DESTINATION; DAY OF THE DEAD), J. T. Seaton (GEORGE: A ZOMBIE INTERNVENTION, NOLA Horror Film Festival), Tim Sullivan (2001 MANIACS; CHILLERAMA), and writer/actor Michael Varrati (TALES OF POE; SINS OF DRACULA).

The panel discusses how authors, filmmakers, and comics creators are always looking for new twists to their mediums, including presenting LGBT subtext, plot elements, and characters. But does a gay horror genre exist, and if so what makes it different from mainstream horror? Do queer horror creators bring a different sensibility to the medium? Has the current surge of LGBTQ acceptance and civil rights influenced the horror genre? The panel explores these and other aspects of this popular medium from a queer perspective.

The following day, Saturday, July 26, Turner will join director J.T. Seaton at the Prism Comics booth from 10:00AM to noon for a meet and greet and autograph session with fans. They will be joined by CRAZY BITCHES director Jane Clark. Prism Comics is located in Booth 2144, Hall C.

CRAZY BITCHES recently screened at Frameline San Francisco, and Clark and her production company FilmMcQueen are eager to bring their story to a wider horror audience at Comic-Con and beyond. In addition to Turner, the ensemble cast includes Samantha Colburn (CESSATION, OUT OF NOWHERE); Candis Cayne (METH HEAD, Dirty Sexy Money); Cathy DeBuono (AND THEN CAME LOLA, Star Trek: DS9); Andy Gala (THE MISTLE-TONES); Liz McGeever (QUEEN SIZED, ETERNITY THE MOVIE); Victoria Profeta (CASH, METH HEAD); Nayo Wallace (Care Bears); Mary Jane Wells (METH HEAD; ELENA UNDONE); David Fumero (One Life to Live); and Blake Berris (HOUSE OF LAST THINGS, Days of Our Lives).

In CRAZY BITCHES, seven women and one fab gay guy head to a secluded ranch for gossip, girl time and grub. They start off as always, old rivalries in place, extreme vanity covering great insecurities, but a true love for each other underneath.

A number of drinks into the first evening and a dark secret is revealed. Their weekend rental is the site of a mass murder of teenage girls on a sleepover fifteen years earlier. Blood still stains the floors under replacement carpets. The killer still runs free.

The girls take it for what it seems – a fun story for a rainy night. But after one of them disappears and the rest find her dead - the story doesn’t seem so fun anymore.

Soon the girls turn on each other, accusing one another of jealousy and chemical imbalance. The journey will turn into a race against death. Who will make it out alive?

Look for CRAZY BITCHES at select film festivals this fall and in release….soon!
