Indiewire Exclusive: Daniel Radcliffe on Ebola, "Horns" and Being Propositioned for Sex by a Fan

The following excerpt and links come from an exclusive interview at:

DANIEL RADCLIFFE ON EBOLA, HORNS AND

Since bidding farewell to the wizard that made him a household name, Daniel Radcliffe has been on a creative roll, appearing in indies that have challenged the actor and made critics see him in a new light.  His performance in Horns (out this Friday) ranks as his most startling yet.  Indiewire Managing Editor Nigel Smith sat down with Radcliffe in New York to discuss his upcoming horror-comedy hybrid adapted from Joe Hill's cult novel and directed by Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D, High Tension) and slew of other topics.

Below, please find a link to the full interview, as well as a few choice excerpts:

http://www.indiewire.com/article/daniel-radcliffe-on-ebola-horns-and-being-propositioned-for-sex-by-a-fan-20141029

Reason I asked if you're a New Yorker, is 'cause I'm curious what you make of this whole Ebola scare? Do you want to head home?

I'm not scared. I feel like we're lucky to live in a westernized predominantly very wealthy country, which obviously doesn't make us immune to any of those things. But, I'd be worried now if I were living in West Africa. I'm less worried to be in New York.

All the headlines last night were "Man in New York Gets Ebola." But he came from West Africa. He had just been there. It was reported obviously, but it was reported after the initial kind of 'let's just shake you up' news for a second. That's the thing. News is like anything is now. It's just a quest to find separation with your audience from all the other outlets around so any way you can try to get a start on them. I suppose you gotta do what you gotta do.

What's been your most uncomfortable fan interaction?

Well, I had a woman come up to me once with her husband in tow and tell me that her and her husband had one of those arrangements where if you meet this famous person, you can f**k them. She told me that I was on her list. Her husband was also there and I was like, "Hey! Hey fellow! Lovely to meet you darling, but you're not on my list I'm afraid." [Laughs]

Horror Film

"OLD 37"

Heads To

American Film Market

In Santa Monica, CA

Bill Moseley, Kane Hodder,

Brandi Cyrus, Sheppard,

 & More

October 29th, 2014 - OLD 37, a psychological slasher about two brothers posing as paramedics, who intercept 911 calls in a retired old ambulance has partnered with Spotlight Pictures and will be heading to the American Film Market (AFM) this year. AFM will be taking place from November 5th through November 12th in Santa Monica, CASpotlight Pictures will be handling foreign sales of the film.

Fast paced and blood soaked, OLD 37 taps into the most basic human fear, vulnerability. The words "don't worry I'm a paramedic" will make you think twice before dialing 9-1-1, similar to what Jaws did with people going into the water. For more information on Old 37, please visit www.Old37TheMovie.com.

The film stars Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th, Hatchet) and Bill Moseley (The Devil's Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses) as twisted brothers working together to exact revenge on careless teen drivers who may be responsible for their mother's hit and run death.

"I really liked the script for OLD 37 and I think my character John Roy is very interesting. I enjoyed working with my buddy Bill Moseley as his brother. Wait until you see how we push the boundaries of demented!" says Kane Hodder.

Bill Moseley had to add, "I'm really excited to be a part of OLD 37. I loved the script and the characters. It was great to work with my old friend Kane Hodder. We're convention buddies as well as having worked on several projects together like Fallen Angels and The Devil's Rejects. Our personal relationship played well as the two psychotic brothers slaughtering people in the OLD 37 ambulance."

Already featured by Fangoria, MTV, The Insider, J14 Magazine, DreadCentral, BloodyDisgusting, Hamptons Patch and more, the star cast includes Brandi Cyrus, (Hannah Montana, Zoey 101), Caitlin Harris (Secret Life of the American Teenager), Olivia Alexander (Attack of the 50ft Cheerleader, Killer Eye), Maxwell Zagorski, Maggie Keane Williams (Audition), Ben Schneider, Mindy White (States, Lydia), Sascha Knopf (Shallow Hal, Expiration Date) and more.

Old 37 features a performance from Aria nominated Australian rock band, Sheppard. The band, which performs live in a party scene in the film, also has 4 songs featured on the soundtrack. Each song is off their new debut full length Bombs Away, which premiered at #2 on the ARIA Charts and is certified gold. Sheppard recently signed with manager Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande), got signed to Universal Republic, and played on ELLEN. They currently have over 20 million streams on Spotify, putting them in the top 50 most played artists.

Other musicians featured on the Old 37 soundtrack include The Used, Circa Survive, Night Riots, States, Death On Two Wheels, Survival Guide, DariusTX, and Emii.

Written and produced by Paul Travers with producing partners, Carrie AltonEvan Greenhill, Dayna Ghiraldi, music composed by Darius Holbert (Hobo With A Shotgun, World's Greatest Dad, Cedar Rapids) and executive produced by Steven Beer, this team is ready to bring the scares. And many of the scares will be provided by Brian Spears who is doing the FX and has worked on VHS, Beneath and Hellbenders, just to name a few.

Writer/Producer/Director Paul Travers will be on site at AFM available for interviews.

SYFY AND UNIVERSAL CABLE PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCE EMMY NOMINEE CHARLES DANCE WILL STAR AS THE ALIEN OVERLORD KARELLEN IN UPCOMING TELEVISION EVENT CHILDHOOD’S END

SIX-HOUR MINISERIES WILL AIR ON SYFY IN 2015

NEW YORK – October 27, 2014 – Syfyand Universal Cable Productions today announced that Emmy nominee Charles Dance, whose numerous credits include Game of Thrones, Phantom of the Opera, Jewel in the Crown and Bleak House, will play the lead role of the alien Overlord “Karellen” in the upcoming six-hour miniseries Childhood’s End.

Adapted from Arthur C. Clarke’s classic novel, Childhood’s End will premiere on Syfy in 2015.  Childhood’s End follows the peaceful invasion of Earth by the mysterious Overlords. Karellen (Dance), the ambassador for the Overlords, makes first contact with Earthling Ricky Stormgren.  Karellen’s comforting words and amazing technological gifts quickly win humanity’s favor, beginning decades of apparent utopia at the cost of human identity and culture. However, his refusal to reveal his physical appearance and insistence on dealing only through Ricky have some people questioning whether his intentions are truly benevolent.

Indiewire Exclusive: Keanu Reeves on Not Receiving More Offers from Hollywood: "It Sucks"

KEANU REEVES ON NOT RECEIVING MORE OFFERS

Indiewire  Chief Film Critic and Senior Editor Eric Kohn spoke with Keanu Reeves on the eve of his latest vehicle, the wildly entertaining action-revenge drama "John Wick".  In the candid interview, posted to Indiewire today, Reeves explained why he's been drawn to various genre films lately -- and how his recent involvement in more indie than studio projects wasn't a conscious choice.

Below, please find a link to the full interview, as well as a few choice excerpts:

http://www.indiewire.com/article/keanu-reeves-on-not-receiving-more-offers-from-hollywood-it-sucks-20141021?utm_source=iwDaily_newsletter&utm_medium=sailthru_newsletter

You aren't doing many studio movies these days. "John Wick" was produced independently and acquired later by Lionsgate. Do you have a preference for indies over studio projects?

Not really. The last studio movie I did was "47 Ronin," but before that it had been a long time - probably "The Day the Earth Stood Still." So I haven't been getting many offers from the studios.

Are you OK with that?

No, it sucks, but it's just the way it is. You can have positive and negative experiences, but what I like about studios are the resources and the worlds that they can create. Obviously, a lot of good filmmakers work on studio movies. Even when I was working on studio movies more often, I was always doing independent movies. So for me, that was just not happening, but I want to keep going, making things, and telling stories. I want to be able to do that - to be an actor, a director, to produce, you know? If we're going to do a delineation between studio and independent [films], I was always hoping to do both.

When grizzled war veteran Ambrose McKinley (Nick Damici) is forced into moving there by his yuppie son Will (Ethan Embry), the residents immediately take offense to Ambrose’s abrasive personality.  But that take-no-prisoners attitude may be just what Ambrose needs to survive as it becomes clear that the attacks are being caused by creatures that are neither animal nor man, and that the tight-knit community of Crescent Bay is hiding something truly sinister in its midst…

Following the release of his Here Comes The Devil, as well as his scene-stealing segment "B is For Bigfoot" in the horror anthology The ABCs of Death, AdriÃ¥n Garcîa Bogliano cements his status as one of the top horror filmmakers coming out of Spain with LATE PHASES.  In a bookend of sorts to his performance in the cult hit Stake Land, Nick Damici commands the screen here, coming on the heels of last year's Sundance vigilante thriller Cold In July and the critically acclaimed cannibal drama, We Are What We Are.

A journey that takes fans to the end of the universe and beyond the boundaries of time itself, “All Good Things…” begins when Q tells Captain Picard that he is to be the cause of humanity’s ultimate annihilation. Thus begins an incredible journey through space and time that follows Picard’s first voyage on the Enterprise to 25 years into the future.  Fans can revisit the engrossing finale with the newly produced documentary
“The Unknown Possibilities of Existence: Making ‘All Good Things…’” and never-before-released deleted scenes.
