NEW YORK, NY, Mar. 17, 2016 -- The 1st Annual International Horror Film Festival (IHFF), a world class event honoring the best in American and international horror filmmaking, will feature a special screening of the beloved 1987 horror film The Monster Squad with appearances by cast members Duncan Regehr (Count Dracula) and Tom Noonan (Frankenstein's Monster).
The Monster Squad, written by Shane Black and Fred Dekker and directed by Dekker, centers on a society of horror-loving pre-teens who idolize classic movie monsters and meet Count Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, The Mummy, The Wolfman and more in an epic battle to save the world.
The IHFF, being held October 21-27, 2016 at New York City's Cinema Village, will bring the horror community together for a series of screenings, Q&As, appearances, special events and an award ceremony. Selected films will be screened alongside some of the most iconic horror movies of all time.
As part of this year's festival, the IHFF will be honoring the legacy of horror icon Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, The Last House on the Left), who passed away in 2015, featuring a special appearance by Mr. Craven's widow, Iya Labunka.
Date, time and ticketing information for the screening of The Monster Squad will be announced soon.
The IHFF was founded in 2016 by John Capo. The festival aspires to become the premier destination to view the world's best horror films.
