This is a nonlinear distillation of the Alien Anthology composing a narrative using necessary scenes, but not necessarily the most iconic scenes one would associate with the franchise as a whole. This is a story presuming the hive mind of Ripley 8, from the imperfect separation of the Xenomorph genetic material from the human DNA of Ellen Ripley, has access to memories beyond her lifetime and being. In so doing we weave through portions from all six films to tell the story of David 8, the Xenomorph and Ripley. Some elements are made clearer although I prefer to let this video speak for itself.
This was harder to do than my video based on the five original Planet of the Apes films. People state that all of the films are the same, but I beg to differ. Beyond the unique footprint of the individual filmmakers, Alien tells a much a broader tale that deceptively seems simple because much of the implications are hinted at and usually implied off camera and rarely directly. So I hope you all enjoy this telling and gain some insight from it as a result.
This was made for both educational and entertainment purposes and gives an example of how editing can construct various narratives based on their placement. I make no claim to anything here. The Alien Anthology and all related media are the property of The Walt Disney Company and the respective filmmakers and artisans who have brought these nihilistic tales to life since 1979. I own nothing on this video compilation. Thank you.
