The saga of Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) and his nemesis Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) comes to a close in the third and final season of The Following. The chickens come home to roost in various forms for Hardy, Agent Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) and Ryan's sister Max (Jessica Stroup) as Joe Caroll's mentor sends his chief disciple Theo Noble (Michael Ealy in a chilling performance) to exact revenge on his behalf while surviving killer Mark Gray (Sam Underwood) exposes a coverup within the FBI that could threaten all involved. Gruesome murder and mayhem follow as Ryan is driven to the brink and makes a life altering decision.
All fifteen final season episodes are presented across three Blu-ray Discs with excellent picture quality in the television broadcast aspect ratio of (1.78:1) with English DTS-HD MA 5.1 Surround Sound as well as French and Spanish Dolby Surround Sound 2.0. English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired are encoded onto the discs along with French and Spanish Language Subtitles.
The extra value features are found on the third disc and they include explorations of the heroic characters darker motivations with the show's' stars, a look at the villains of the season, the shows' attention to realism as well as an exploration of Ryan's star crossed love life are the subjects of two featurettes and the 2014 New York Comic Con panel is presented too. The Following: Funny And Die parody with Kevin Bacon playing himself and a gag reel wrap up the bonus features on the third disc. An insert with third season episode and disc content information is included within the Blue BD case along with a sheet containing a limited time only redemption code for a free Ultraviolet Digital Copy of the third season.
