Supergirl: The Complete Second Season On Blu-ray Disc Set Review

FTC Notice Of Compliance: "Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own."

Please note that the following synopsis for season two of Supergirl comes directly from the press release. My review of the set follows the synopsis.

Having left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant at Catco Worldwide Media in order to figure out what she really wants to do, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) continues to work with Hank Henshaw aka Martian Manhunter (David Harewood) and her adoptive sister Alex (Chyler Leigh) at the DEO as Supergirl – protecting the citizens of National City and searching for her missing father Jeremiah (Dean Cain) and the secret research lab Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with her Kryptonian cousin Kal El – aka Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) – to battle new DC Super-Villains both terrestrial and extraterrestrial, as she strives to balance her personal life with friends/allies James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) and more with her busy life as a new Super Hero in Supergirl Season Two.

Warner Brothers Home Entertainment presents Supergirl: The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray Disc with a feature film quality 1080p full HD picture that preserves the (1.78:1) broadcast aspect ratio beautifully. A full sounding English DTS-HD MA 5.1 Surround Soundtrack is provided along with English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired and French and Spanish Language Subtitles encoded for all twenty two episodes of the second season across the four discs.

Within the Blue BD Case there is an episode guide as well as an insert with a limited time only redeemable code for a free digital copy of the second season of Supergirl. Included on the discs themselves is the beginning of the epic four series crossover event entitled "Medusa." In addition Kevin Smith and Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg participate in a screen specific audio commentary for one of two episodes  that Smith directed entitled "Supergirl Lives." Smith is both humorous and articulate throughout.

Disc one contains a look at the episode "Survivors" while the balance of the extra value materials are on disc four and these in include the 2016 SDCC Panel, the Producers revealing series facts for the fans, a visual effects featurette regarding the Aliens Among Us storyline and and conversation with Kevin Smith and Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg .
