The silliness of A.I. paranoia.
By Mark A. Rivera
A.I. is a tool. Any tool used irresponsibly can be dangerous. However that is why one learns about the tool before using it. For my recent Backrooms shorts, which were parody based on elements in the public domain, I used YouTube Create, which is a free app YouTube grants for creators to imagine with and bring visions to fruition. Two years ago the thought of typing a scenario into a program and within seconds have a near and or at times photo realistic scene created was the stuff science fiction. Now, just like the Internet, democratized the media, synthetic animation has given creators, a means of making Hollywood style special effects at virtually no cost. I was surprised by a few comments that were automatically paranoid because I used AI to generate imagery and yet make no mistake that whether it’s mainstream Hollywood or some independent creator on YouTube, artificially, intelligent animation is here to stay so long as it falls within in the case of YouTube the terms of service. Now it’s OK to dislike a video because you don’t like it. You don’t owe me an explanation. Although sometimes it’s nice to get feedback that’s articulate so long as it’s not abusive. Just don’t claim that you’re going to report me for using AI when I’m using it responsibly and within the context of an app that is heavily guard railed by both YouTube and it’s parent companies to ensure that ethical use is employed. I operate under the golden rule for this channel. Everyone is welcomed so long as they treat everyone as they would help they would be treated. This includes interacting with me. If you’re paranoid about synthetically produced content, then perhaps you should take that fear and educate yourself on the use of it by actually experimenting with it yourself instead of making ignorant statements and comments that here on in will be the immediate grounds for being banned from having comments posted on this channel for life. Life is too short to deal with ignorance. If you’re going to dislike something, please have an informed opinion that’s articulate instead of simply parroting things you’ve heard and obviously you know nothing about because if you did, you wouldn’t write such silly things. Thank you.
