Chicago,IL (August 28, 2017)  – This summer, Doppelganger Releasing brings back master of horror, Wes Craven's 1978 cult favorite Summer of Fear, also known as Stranger in Our House, starring Linda Blair, Lee Purcell, Jeremy Slate, Jeff East and Fran Drescher. 

                    

Based on the best-selling young adult novel by Lois Duncan of You Know What I Did Last Summer fame, Wes Craven’s Summer of Fear tells the tale of plucky teenaged Rachel (Linda Blair) whose life is turned dangerously upside down when her cousin Julie (Lee Purcell) moves in following the death of her parents in a car crash. Julie enchants everyone in the family and appears to be a loving relative, but Rachel knows her cousin is up to something creepy…something like witchcraft!

 

Thirty-nine years later, Wes Craven’s Summer of Fear will finally make its Blu-ray debut with a Special Collector’s Edition alongside a DVD and VOD (iTunes, Amazon Instant, Google Play, Vudu, YouTube) release. The disc will be available beginning October 10th for the suggested retail price of $29.95 (BD) and $19.95 (DVD). Special bonus features will contain: exclusive new interview with Linda Blair; director commentary by Wes Craven; poster and still gallery; original trailer.

 

Music Box Films Home Entertainment acquired U.S. domestic rights to the 1978 film and will be released under the Doppelgänger Releasing banner, which includes genre titles such as The Cairnes Brothers’ 100 Bloody Acres, the Dutch action-thriller Black Out, the psychological six-part thriller Penance by acclaimed director Kiyoshi Kurosawa and more. 



Synopsis:

A chilling cult classic,Wes Craven’s SUMMER OF FEAR (1978) follows a country family of five who take in cousin Julie (Lee Purcell), whose parents recently died in a car crash. While the rest of the family and those around them are completely charmed by Julie, teenaged daughter Rachel (Linda Blair) grows suspect that her cousin has an alternative agenda; one that possibly includes witchcraft.

TCM to Remember Legendary Comedic Actor Jerry Lewis on Labor Day

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will celebrate the life and career of acclaimed comedian, actor and filmmaker Jerry Lewis, whose irrepressible zaniness and frantic creativity made him a defining figure of American entertainment in the 20th century, with a five film tribute on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4 in honor of of the nearly 50 years Mr. Lewis spent hosting The Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon encouraging viewers to donate to the charity.  Lewis, who passed away Sunday Aug 20 at the age of 91, knew success in movies, on television, in nightclubs, on the Broadway stage from his early films with Dean Martin, to his solo career eventually writing, producing and directing many of his own films.

In Fuller House: The Complete Second Season, there’s no place like home, as the Tanner-Fuller-Gibblers serve up a whole new set of hilarious adventures. D.J. finally decides between Matt and Steve. On Fuller House, eldest daughter D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure, Full House, A Christmas Detour) is now a veterinarian and recently widowed mother trying to raise three boys on her own.  She is joined by her sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin, Full House, Walt Before Mickey) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber, Full House, The Skateboard Kid 2) and Kimmy’s teenage daughter Ramona (Soni Bringas), who move in to lend their support and help raise D.J.’s kids.  The Full Houseoriginal cast, including Bob Saget (Full House, Entourage), Lori Loughlin (Full House, When Calls the Heart), John Stamos (Full House, Grandfathered, Scream Queens) and Dave Coulier (Full House, Robot Chicken), make guest appearances throughout the series.  

 

The original Full House, which centered around three grown men raising three girls in San Francisco, premiered in 1987 on ABC and became an instant hit with viewers. The family friendly series became a pop culture phenomenon. It was praised by fans for its wholesome comedy, lovable characters and valuable life lessons. It aired for eight successful seasons and later aired in syndication.  Fuller Housepremiered on Netflix in February 2016.

DC's Legends Of Tomorrow: The Complete Second Season On Blu-ray Disc Set Review

Arguably, the most fantastical of the DCEU TV series, (I realize people dubbed it the Arrowverse, but since the DC Extended Universe feature films take place in a separate parallel universe and through The Flash and Supergirl, we see this concept exists on the TV shows, I think DCEU TV series is not a huge stretch.) Remember that in the past anyway, there was continuity and references between the MCU TV shows and movies, but the DCEU TV shows have more flexibility regarding the stories the producers and writers want to tell. 
because they do not have to be beholden to single person's vision across a wide board in the same way. Best part of all is for a cord cutter like me, they are all on free over the air broadcast television and require no subscription fees to enjoy.

Protecting the timeline from temporal rifts, the Legends with the addition of Citizen Steel and Justice Society of America member Vixen square against the Legion of Doom as personified by Malcolm Merlyn, Damien Darhk, Captain Cold and the Reverse Flash. Armed with a weapon of unspeakable power known as the Spear of Destiny, the Legends of Tomorrow travel across time to save reality as they know it.

Warner Brothers Home Entertainment's Blu-ray Disc set of Legends Of Tomorrow presents all 17 episodes in glorious 1080p Full High Definition picture quality in their (1.78:1) broadcast television aspect ratio with a sharp English DTS HD MA 5.1 Soundtrack and English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired as well as French and Spanish Language Subtitles encoded onto all three discs for all the second season episodes as an option.

Eight of the seventeen episodes include an optional deleted scene as well as a featuette covering the epic Invasion storyline. The concluding episode in this cross series event is included within this set, but if you want the complete storyline, you will have to purchase the second season of Supergirl, the third season of The Flash and the sixth season of Arrow to get everything. Personally I find this to be a bit of a bummer because if you wanted to own those episodes of the crossover event, you have to hope they can be purchased separately on your favorite digital platform or you could be stuck with having to buy the seasons that way too. I can understand why these episodes are only available with their respective series, but last year Warner Brothers made crossover episodes involving certain characters available in their entirety on the respective sets involved. So if you like The Flash, but are not into Arrow, you could buy The Flash and not have to buy Arrow. I thought that was a classy move for the fans who purchase these sets, but when you split things up it could turn potential consumers off.

The 2016 Comic-Con Panel from SDCC and a Gagreel wrap up the features included on disc. In addition to an episode guide, there is a limited time only redeemable code for a digital copy of the second season too.
