The Best Of Men DVD Review

The 2014 Paralympic Winter Games is taking place in Sochi, Russia from March 7, 2014 through March 16, 2014. In honor of these games, PBS Distribution has released the film The Best Of Men, which tells the story of Jewish refugee Sir Ludwig Guttmann, who having escaped Nazi Germany, Dr. Guttmann reinvigorated the lives of both staff and patients by introducing athletics into the rehabilitation program of his patients. Paralyzed soldiers who had been cast-off and facing death from neglect were given a new care regime using sports that built physical strength, self respect and self fulfillment. Guttmann's work at Stoke Mandeville Hospital lead to the birth of the Paralympic Games.

This acclaimed film is presented in a clear standard definition 16 by 9 widescreen aspect ratio with English Stereo Sound and English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired encoded as an option.
