Lucifer: The Complete First Season On DVD Set Review

FTC Notice Of Compliance: "Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own."

Based on the Vertigo Comics series Lucifer, which in itself is an imprint of DC though I am not sure whether the comic or television series have any connection, planned or otherwise, to the DCEU, Lucifer relocates from Hell to LA where upon witnessing a murder, he feels compassion for the victim. Consequently he helps a police detective solve the case and discovers there may be chance at redemption for himself too.

The DVD set includes all 13 episodes spread across three discs and includes unaired scenes on select episodes and bonus features on the third disc that include the 2015 Comic-Con Panel, four character profiles, two featurette and a gag reel. Within the DVD keep case there is an insert containing disc content and episode information and an insert contains a web address to participate in a survey about the first season that expires on November 13, 2016.

The picture quality is standard definition, but holds itself together well and features a complete English 5.1 Dolby Audio Track. The image is presented in a matted widescreen aspect ratio that is enhanced for Widescreen Televisions. English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired are encoded as an option. The DVD case comes packaged within a cardboard slip.
