AMERICA’S SECRET UFO PAST UNCOVERED IN NEW FILM

AMERICA’S SECRET UFO PAST UNCOVERED IN NEW FILM
New documentary about the fabled “Flatwoods Monster” of West Virginia to be released next April
A new film aims to tell the true story behind what happened in a rural, West Virginia town when a group of terrified locals encountered a monstrous being just moments after seeing strange objects in the sky. The Flatwoods Monster: A Legacy of Fear is a new documentary from director, Seth Breedlove, which will unlock a decades-old mystery that included a government-ordered military examination of a purported alien crash-site, and multiple UFOs seen by countless residents of Braxton County, WV. In the years since their brush with the “Flatwoods Monster”, witnesses have seen their story evolve from a terrifying, true-life event to little more than a fable. Two of the remaining witnesses will set the record straight when the film is released on April 6th.
The “Flatwoods Monster incident” has become one of the most famous legends in modern memory. However, with the Pentagon now opening up about UFO investigations dating back to the 1940’s, the incident can be seen in a new light. In September of 1952 hundreds of people across the United States witnessed glowing objects streak across the skies over much of the Eastern Seaboard. One of the objects in question was seen to land on a hill near the small community of Flatwoods, West Virginia by a group of children. The children and two adults made a journey to the top of the hill to search for the object but instead found themselves face to face with a thirteen foot tall mechanical monster. Later that same evening a branch of the local National Guard unit would be dispatched by Air Force officials to investigate the site of the encounter.

The film, which was shot over the course of eight months between July of 2017 and January, 2018, will also be part of a crowd-funding campaign launching this Thursday night at 7pm EST. Members of the film crew will be taking part in a Facebook Live Q&A and radio show the same night. The film is being released by the award-winning, Small Town Monsters production company, who are responsible for last Spring’s, “The Mothman of Point Pleasant”; another documentary centered around a well-known West Virginia legend. The film features an original score composed by Brandon Dalo and cinematography by Zachary Palmisano with special FX by Santino Vitale and fully animated sequences by Chris Scalf.

The Flatwoods Monster will be released on DVD and Amazon next April with a wider digital release planned thereafter. Plans are in place to screen the movie prior to it’s release at HorrorHound Cincinnati, being held March 23-25th, 2018 . The official premiere will be held at the Elk Theater in Sutton, WV on April 7th with members of the Small Town Monsters crew taking part in a Q&A following the showing.

CONAN Without Borders: Haiti to Air Saturday, January 27

CONAN Without Borders: Haiti to Air Saturday, January 27

TBS’ CONAN will travel internationally for the eighth time in three years for CONAN Without Borders: Haiti, a primetime special premiering Saturday, January 27 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on TBS.

After hearing President Trump’s disparaging remarks about Haiti, O’Brien immediately decided to announce his intentions to visit the island nation. On January 14, he tweeted “Still reeling from @realDonaldTrump’s very negative Yelp review of Haiti, which means I’ll love it. Headed to Haiti later this week to explore and make some new friends. Stay tuned for my report.”

Three days after that tweet O’Brien boarded his flight out of Los Angeles to Haiti’s Port-au-Prince International Airport to film his newest special. This will mark the shortest time between filming and airing of a CONAN Without Borders special, with more details available in the coming days.

CONAN Without Borders: Haiti is O'Brien's eighth international adventure in the past three years. Most recently he traveled to Israel, where he visited Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the West Bank. Previously he went to Mexico City, where he shot an episode of CONAN with the help of an all-Mexican staff, crew, guests Vicente Fox, Diego Luna and an all-Mexican studio audience. He has made headlines as the first American late-night host to shoot in Cuba in more than 50 years. He became the first American late-night personality to host a show from Armenia, as well as South Korea. O’Brien has joined former First Lady Michelle Obama at the international Air Force Base in Doha, Qatar, to perform for troops stationed overseas. He has also traveled to Berlin. In previous years, O'Brien has filmed special shows from New York, Chicago, Dallas, San Diego and Atlanta.

CONAN airs Monday-Thursday at 11 p.m.(ET/PT) on TBS. The show is produced by Conaco LLC, with Jeff Ross serving as executive producer.

WHAT IF AMERICA LOST WORLD WAR THREE TO RADICAL ISLAM? BHC PRESS TO PUBLISH GARY MORGENSTEIN’S PROVOCATIVE NEW NOVEL A MOUND OVER HELL ON MARCH 29, 2018, LAUNCHING THE DARK DEPTHS BOOK SERIES

WHAT IF AMERICA LOST WORLD WAR THREE TO RADICAL ISLAM?
BHC PRESS TO PUBLISH GARY MORGENSTEIN’S PROVOCATIVE NEW NOVEL A MOUND OVER HELL
ON MARCH 29, 2018, LAUNCHING THE DARK DEPTHS BOOK SERIES
LIVONIA, Mich. – January, 2018 – BHC Press today announced it will publish Gary Morgenstein’s provocative new science fiction-baseball novel A Mound Over Hell (978-1-946848-01-7, 320 pp, $16.95) to launch the author’s The Dark Depths book series.
In making the announcement, BHC Press said, “This is one of the most unique novels to be published in the last fifty years, and we’re thrilled to bring Mr. Morgenstein’s vision to life.”
Morgenstein’s fifth novel is set in 2098, twenty-five years after America has been defeated by Islam. Led by Grandma, a new society has been established based on love, ethics, and honesty.
All acts of patriotism, from flying the flag to singing the National Anthem, are illegal. Social media has been banned. Religion is illegal. Children are now revered, and abortion and the use of contraceptives are capital offenses. Teachers, police, and doctors are the most trusted professions, while the entertainment industry, lawyers, and the banking industry are outlawed.
As A Mound Over Hell opens, baseball is beginning its final season—forever. The once all-American sport is now synonymous with terrorism and treason. Holograms run the bases for out-of-shape players and attendance averages fifteen spectators per game. The only ballpark left is Amazon, the once-famous Yankee Stadium. Led by baseball historian Puppy Nedick and a band of former baseball greats, baseball regains its popularity only to become a pawn between those who want peace, and those eager for another war.
“The power of speculative fiction is that it allows you to be timely while taking the reader through a window into a nightmarish future,” Morgenstein said.  “Familiar, yet not. But as humanity has always done under the most terrible of circumstances, ordinary people will find the extraordinary courage to build a better world.  Or at least try. For as Grandma says in her First Insight, ‘All you need is love.’  That and a baseball field.”
About Gary Morgenstein:
Gary Morgenstein’s previous novels were Jesse’s Girl; Loving Rabbi Thalia Kleinman; Take Me Out to the Ballgame and The Man Who Wanted to Play Center Field for the New York Yankees. An accomplished playwright as well, Morgenstein wrote the book for the critically-acclaimed off-Broadway sci-fi rock musical The Anthem, as well as the sci-fi musical Mad Mel Saves the World. His stage dramas are A Tomato Can’t Grow in the Bronx, Right on Target, Ponzi Man and Saving Stan. Contact him at @writergary.

R.E.M. Out Of Time 25TH Anniversary Deluxe Edition Four-Disc Set Review.

Outstanding 25th Anniversary of R.E.M.'s 1991 breakout mainstream pop record. This is pop music as filtered through the band's own Alternative Rock and College Music Country sensibility. There are four  discs in total that come houses in a CD long box size booklet containing liner notes, promotional photography and song lyrics. Disc one is the remastered Out Of Time record and it sounds fantastic and I appreciate the album in a different way now than I did when I was in college. Disc two is an audio CD contains the demo tracks, many of which are instrumental and reminded me of the kind of background music radio DJs on the radio use to talk up a sponsor. The third disc is an acoustic performance recorded at an Athens, GA club in 1991. It sounds a lot like the 1991 MTV Unplugged session. Finally the Blu-ray Disc contains a high resolution 2.0 uncompressed PCM version of Out Of Time as well as a mix of the album in DTS-HD MA 5.1 Surround Sound. All the music videos are presented in high definition as well as an EPK with interviews and performance clips of the band in the studio, relaxed and happy. I love this set. Plan on eventually getting the 25th Anniversary Deluxe set for Automatic For The People and when it comes, Monster. I wish I knew about these sooner. Would love to get the ones for Life's Rich Pageant and Green. This was a Christmas gift from a family member and I love it. Thank you.

“This third film by Italian horror maestro Dario Argento's most gifted acolyte, Michele Soavi, establishes him as a horror stylist in his own right.”  – Time Out London

Chicago, IL (January 12, 2017) – Doppelgänger Releasing and Scorpion Releasing continue their ongoing series of lustrous restored editions of the films of legendary Italian horror auteur Dario Argento with the release of THE SECT, the 1991 chiller about an American schoolteacher in Germany who is terrorized by a murderous Satanic cult that is plotting to plunge the world into darkness.

Co-produced and co-written by Dario Argento and directed by Argento protégé Michele Soavi, THE SECT makes its US Blu-ray and DVD debut remastered in high definition with more than 45 hours of color correction that includes a new interview with actor Tomas Arana (The Church).

In THE SECT, Kelly Lee Curtis (older sister of iconic scream queen Jamie Lee) stars as Miriam, an American schoolteacher who has been relocated to what appears to be a pleasant town in Germany. One afternoon, Miriam accidentally hits an elderly pedestrian, Moebius (Herbert Lom of The Pink Panther fame) with her car, prompting her to take him back to her house to recuperate. What Miriam doesn’t know is that their meeting was no accident and that Moebius is the elder of a dangerous Satanic sect. While at Miriam’s home, Moebius secretly drugs her and then secretes a strange insect into her nostril. Moebius’s sinister plan triggers a string of bizarre and hallucinogenic events in Miriam’s life involving nightmares, a diabolical cult leader named Damon (Tomas Arana), her magic pet rabbit, a dark well filled with mystical water and a plot involving the birth of the son of Satan.

THE SECT is Michele Soavi’s third directorial effort, following 1990’s The Church (also produced by Dario Argento) and the slasher Stage Fright, his 1987 directorial debut. Prior to sitting in the director’s chair, Soavi worked an assistant director and/or 2nd unit director on Argentos films Tenebre, Phenomena  and Operaand on such noteworthy projectsas Lamberto Bava’s Demons and A Blade in the Dark and Terry Gilliam’s The Adventures of Baron MunchausenWith THE SECT's rich visuals, strong set pieces, dreamlike mise-en-scene and overall creepy atmosphere, Soavi came to be considered a horror stylist in his own right, adding a distinctive voice to one of the Italian cinema’s most striking genres.

Doppelgänger Releasing and Scorpion Releasing will release THE SECT on Blu-ray and DVD for the first time in the United States on February 27, 2018 (prebook January 23, 2018). The Blu-ray and DVD, which includes an interview with actor Tomas Arana, will carry the suggested retail prices of $24.95 and $19.95, respectively.
