The Leftovers: The Complete Second Season on Blu-ray Disc Set Review

The second season of the HBO original series, The Leftovers has many characters journeying to a town in Texas where not one person disappeared in the rapture like event that took two percent of the world's population sometime before and also occasionally dramatized in the first season. The series explores themes of grief and depression as well as loss and resists the temptation to present any answers that for the world of the show does not seem possible. Indeed, answering a question like this definitively would diminish the show in the same way  if the source of the zombie plague in The Walking Dead were ever to be revealed. This is not so much about how do we undo the unthinkable. It is how do we move on and live in a world that has been fundamentally changed forever. It is the reason why it is the perfect vehicle for Damon Lindelof to use his own style of storytelling techniques that up front viewers familiar with his other TV and feature film writing should know not to expect a complete reconciliation or edification of the why, who and what of what has happened. That is not what The Leftovers is about.

Warner Brothers Home Video Entertainment presents the second season of The Leftovers on Blu-ray Disc In a near film like digitally shot 1080p High Definition picture that is very detailed and vivid. The English DTS-HD MA Soundtrack is well mixed and at times ethereal. English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impairrd along with French, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish Language Subtitles are encoded onto all the discs as options.

A limited time only free Ultraviolet Digital Copy redeemable code on an insert is included as well. The Leftovers: The Complete Second Season will debut on Blu-ray Disc at retailers on and offline on February 9, 2026 courtesy of Warner Brothers Video Home Entertainment.
