TCM to Remember Legendary Actor Omar Sharif on Sep. 21
Evening Tribute to Include Doctor Zhivago (1965) and Funny Girl (1968)
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will celebrate the life and career of Hollywood icon Omar Sharif with a three-film tribute on Monday, Sep. 21. Sharif, who passed away July 10 at the age of 83, enthralled audiences around the world with his performances in the sweeping David Lean epics Doctor Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia.
The following is the complete schedule for TCM's tribute to Omar Sharif:
TCM Remembers Omar Sharif – Monday, Sep. 21
- 8 p.m. Doctor Zhivago (1965) – llicit lovers fight to stay together during the turbulent years of the Russian Revolution
- 11:30 p.m. Funny Girl (1968) – Comedienne Fanny Brice fights to prove that she can be the greatest star and find romance even though she isn't pretty
- 2:30 a.m. Funny Lady (1975) – Musical biography of Fanny Brice and her tempestuous marriage to showman Billy Rose
