CULVER CITY, Calif. (Mar. 21, 2016) –A unique dramedy that explores the human psyche driven by drugs, sex, and obsession, CREATIVE CONTROL debuts on digitalApril 12 and on Blu-ray and DVD May 10from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Set in the near-future, CREATIVE CONTROL follows a tech-obsessed ad exec whose reality blurs when he starts using augmented reality glasses.  Directed by, co-written and starring Benjamin Dickinson (First Winter), the film also features Nora Zehetner (“The Astronaut Wives Club”), Dan Gill (The Wedding Ringer), Alexia Rasmussen (The Missing Girl), Reggie Watts (“The Late Show with James Corden”), Gavin McInnes (founder of Vicemagazine) and Jake Lodwick (creator of Vimeo).  CREATIVE CONTROL won a special jury award for visual excellence at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival and was released theatrically by Amazon Studios and Magnolia Pictures. 

 

The Blu-ray, DVD and iTunes Digital releases of CREATIVE CONTROL include deleted scenes, a Reggie Watts music video and commercials for Phalinex and Augmenta.

 

Synopsis:

In near-future Brooklyn, David is a tech-obsessed advertising executive working on a campaign for augmented reality glasses. Jealous of his best friend Wim’s charmed life and obsessed with his beautiful girlfriend Sophie, David uses the glasses to create a life-like avatar of her — but he is not prepared for what happens when the line between reality and virtual reality begins to blur.

 

Directed by Benjamin Dickinson and written by Benjamin Dickinson & Micah Bloomberg, CREATIVE CONTROL is produced by Craig Shilowich, Mark De Pace, Zachary Mortensen and Melody C. Roscher. Cameron Brodie, Greg Stewart and Emily Wiedemann serve as executive producers.
