Solace Blu-ray Disc Review

A psychic doctor, John Clancy, works with an FBI special agent in search of serial killer Charles Ambrose. After having lived in isolation for two years, since the death of his daughter, Clancy is asked by his friend Joe, an FBI special agent to help him solve several murders committed by a serial killer. The problem is that Ambrose is also psychic, and far ahead of Clancy. Solace stars Sir Anthony Hopkins, Colin Farrell, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. As far as mystery thrillers go, Solace is a bit underwhelming, despite the acting talent screen direction involved.

Solace is presented on Blu-ray Disc with a clear 1080p full HD (2.40:1) aspect ratio and features an effective English DTS HA MA 5.1 Soundtrack that makes good use of the surround channels. English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired along with English and Spanish Language Subtitles are encoded onto the disc as options.

Extra value features include a Feature Length Audio Commentary with Director Afonso Poyart, a promotional featurette entitled Visions and Voices: The Making of Solace (8:40) with a mix of interviews and snippets from the film. There is also the Solace theatrical trailer (1:54). A limited time redeemable code for an Ultraviolet Digital Copy on an insert is included within by the Blue BD case.

Solace is available now on Blu-ray Disc at retailers on and offline courtesy of Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
