Kickstarter to complete
Ross Lipman’s “kino essay” Notfilm raises $10,000
in just one day!

Wednesday July 15, 2015.                                   For Immediate Release.

At 10:00 on Tuesday, Bastille Day 2015, the team at Milestone Films pushed the button to launch their new crowdfunding campaign to raising finishing funds for Notfilm, a meditative and mesmerizing new film by renowned restorationist and filmmaker Ross Lipman.

The documentary—which explores the making of the 1965 Film written by Samuel Beckett and starring Buster Keaton—is the independent company’s first-ever production, after more than a quarter of a century dedicated to rediscovering, restoring and releasing great classic and international cinema.

Right away the donations started rolling in more quickly than Milestone co-founders Dennis Doros and Amy Heller had anticipated. Around noon, the folks at Kickstarter designated the campaign a “Staff Pick.” And with support from film-streaming service, Fandor, filmmaker Lipman and social media consultant Taylor Morales, the campaign kept building.

By the time the husband-and-wife team of Doros and Heller (aided this summer by son, Adam) awoke this morning, the total was approaching $10,000—a full third of the campaign’s $30,000 goal!

In gratitude to the campaign donors, Milestone is planning some nontraditional “stretch goals”—including an homage to the great slapstick tradition of Buster Keaton. Contributors and others are urged to check for updates on the Kickstarter campaign!
